Salzburg
The capital of the same-named federal land and historic city is located in the northern foothills of the Alps on the border with Germany. Salzburg is the hometown of the great Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and was built in a Baroque style. It is not surprising that now this stunning city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Salzburg is home to Austria's second largest airport, in addition to many museums, cathedrals, parks, boutiques and famous restaurants.
Hallstat
The town, which is over 3,000 years old, is considered one of the world's most beautiful lakeside locations. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site back in 1997, Hallstatt is visited every year by thousands of tourists to see the world's oldest salt mine and to enjoy the spectacular views from the famous Hallstatt Skywalk.
St. Gilgen
This resort stands at 542 metres above sea level and offers water sports, fishing and hiking in the mountains during the summer, and skiing and snowboarding in the winter. The town is famous for its period baroque cathedrals and it is home to Mozart's mother Anna Maria, along with museums of musical instruments and a unique doll museum. There is also a high lookout point (1,521m) on top of Mount Schaffberg, which can be reached by a unique steam toothed railway with the steepest ascent in Austria. The railway has been open since 1893.
Bad-Ischl

Postalm am Wolfgangsee
This is a ski resort with 20 km of downhill runs, 9 rope tow lifts and snowboarding schools.
Zwolferhorn
This is a mountain (1,493m) where you can test your endurance not only by skiing but also by paragliding, hiking and mountain biking. Zwolferhorn is also the famous cable car, named after the mountain peak, where it takes 11 minutes to reach an altitude of 908 metres. Here you will be inspired by the spectacular panoramic views.
