History
The Schwarzenbach estate was home to the descendants of German aristocrats; Petrus and Judith von Gerschen who were members of an ancient German noble family known since the 11th century.
The villa belonged to Denes Festetics de Tolna, a member of the Festetics family, whose history dates back to 1566. The Festetics are a noble and wealthy family that came to Austria-Hungary from Croatia and became famous as patrons of the arts and sciences. The Counts Festetics are associated with prominent royal families, such as the von Habsburgs, Hohenlohe, Fürstenberg and Grimaldi.
The current owner of Schwarzenbach turned to one of the leading construction companies; ZEBAU for a major renovation, which was successfully completed in 2020. The renovation was done by hand, with the stucco alone having taken 2 years to create. This means that everything in the castle has been carefully restored with great respect and patience for the history of the building.

The Schwarzenbach villa is located near the town of St. Wolfgang
90 000 m²
The mandion is surrounded by an arboretum covering almost 90,000 sq. m. It is home to many rare trees, most of them belonging to the coniferous kingdom. The park zone, where the residence is located, is accented by stylized sculptures that complement the natural landscape.
The Schwarzenbach villa is located near the town of St. Wolfgang in the famous 'lake country' of Salzkammergut, within close proximity to the Wolfgangsee lake. The area around St. Wolfgang has been well known among European aristocrats since the 19th century. This picturesque location, with its healing air and water, has been attracting many visitors for the past 3 centuries.

In summer, the town and its surroundings turn into a hub for recreational activities such as tennis, golf and horseback riding. Water activities, such as diving, water skiing, windsurfing, swimming and fishing are also available on the lake. In winter, it takes only half an hour to get from the comfortable St. Wolfgang area to the best ski resorts in the country. St. Wolfgang regularly hosts all kinds of musical events: operetta evenings, jazz festivals and classical concerts.
Of particular value is the stone bench, which, according to the legend, belonged to the great French emperor and military leader; Napoleon I Bonaparte.
